BB ilmub öösel

A production by Tartu New Theatre and Von Krahl Theatre, created as part of the EV100 theatre programme marking the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia’s independence

We know how Estonians view the 1940s — a decade of betrayal and war. But how are those years seen by a European intellectual fleeing the Nazis? How do they appear to a Finnish writer of Estonian origin, a communist-turned-manor lady? How can all of this happen at the same time? With whom did you spend Midsummer Night in 1940?

The production is based on Mati Unt’s novel "Brecht at Night" and documentary materials.

The performance takes place on a train, outdoors, and inside the Tapa railway station building, and includes a return train ticket on the Tartu–Tapa–Tartu or Tallinn–Tapa–Tallinn route. The performance begins in Tallinn or Tartu and concludes in the same city.
